Just god damn! Great Folk Music. Passion, anger, and fire.

This is exactly how I feel right about now. I need out of this concrete city. Give me some blue sky, open road, and an ipod loaded with a driving playlist, and I’ll show you a free man. One day…

Lush, full and mellow are the only way to describe Snow in Mexico’s song “You and my winter”. I love the way his vocals seem to float across the musical landscape. And they do so with minimal melody or effort. It’s brilliant. So, sit back and fire one up.
Roll it, light it, smoke it…

This is one of those songs that when I push play and the first crack of the snare fires, I can’t help but smile. This is a song that moves me. Everything from it’s chord structure to the heart felt lyrics, Jack Peñate nails the feeling of being too in-love with someone. I think he’s talking about the point in a relationship when you get close enough to someone that it’s a bit frightening to let yourself go any further, fearing your heart just might give out. Either that, or the fear that you’ll scare the shit out of them with your feelings.
I am a bit late to the game on this one, but loving this tune. Massive.

“I wish I could disappear
And run away from all my fears.
I think I’m coming undone.”

Like a piece of hot bacon, these boys are greased to become a mainstay in your summer play-list from here on out. The song is not new by any means, but it’s just as good as the first time I heard it. Peace-sizzle (get it the bacon joke? see how I bring shit full circle? Ace!) until next time.
